Kerr Regional Citizen Voices

Kerr Regional Citizen Voices is a community-led effort to protect our water, environment and quality of life. Please join us in our fight to stop the development of data centers in our region. Currently, two data center sites are set in Vance County. These data centers would touch the lives of every Kerr Regional Citizen. Our air, water and land would be contaminated and sacrificed to satisfy the greed of the developers and government officials.

The developers, have plans to utilize millions of gallons of our refined drinking water drawn from Kerr Lake. The lake is at low levels now due to severe to extreme drought conditions across the Roanoke River Basin. What happens when there is not enough water? Who would be served first?

These developers are working hard to offset construction costs. Duke Energy and data center developers would prefer to pass infrastructure upgrade expenses to you, resulting in higher electric bills. What if your house is in the way? Would it be bulldozed to make way for their new transmission lines? We believe our community’s water and natural resources must be protected and citizens deserve a voice in decisions that will impact our region for generations to come.
